Chibuzor Azubike Nelson, popularly known as Phyno, has strongly cautioned fans against comparing him with his fellow rapper and collaborator Olamide.
Over the years, fans have often pitted the two rappers against each other due to their different linguistic styles. Phyno predominantly raps in Igbo, while Olamide delivers his lyrics in Yoruba.
The latest comparison came from an X user, @TheDamiForeign, who reignited the debate by asking followers to choose the greatest rapper between Phyno and Olamide.
The post sparked a stern response from Phyno, who made it clear that he does not appreciate being compared to his brother or anyone else in the industry.
Phyno’s message read, “Yo!!! Tf is wrong with u guys for God sake.. stop putting me up against my brother or anybody else for that matter. Do your banter with someone else.. na ala adi agba unu.. wtf.”
The rapper’s statement has since ignited conversations about the frequent habit of fans creating unnecessary rivalries between artists, especially those with a history of collaboration and mutual respect.
