Ms Jorji: “Poco Lee tried to rape my girlfriend and i”

US-based Nigerian rapper claims the dancer and singer groped her and her girlfriend during a Dallas industry meeting two years ago as the video spreads rapidly online

Nigerian-American Afro-trap rapper Independence Akuoma Jorji, professionally known as Ms Jorji, publicly detailed a shocking Poco Lee assault allegation involving Nigerian dancer and singer Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee.

The claim centres on an incident Ms Jorji says took place roughly two years earlier in Dallas, Texas, when she and her girlfriend sought industry advice from the entertainer.

In a video that spread rapidly across social media platforms, Ms Jorji described meeting Poco Lee to play him a song and ask for guidance on entering the music industry.

She stated that he then grabbed her private parts. After she rejected the advance, she said he turned to her girlfriend, repeatedly grabbing her breasts and buttocks while pulling at her dress.

According to Ms Jorji, the pair attempted to leave, at which point Poco Lee allegedly seized her girlfriend and tried to pull her into a room.

“We end up beating the F**k out of him,” Ms Jorji said in the video. “I end up pushing him off. We beat him like we shove him to the corner. First of all he’s like five four. A midget. So it’s easy to throw him to the side.” She explained that the women did not report the matter to police at the time because they had successfully resisted and no full assault had occurred.

Ms Jorji said she chose to speak now after hearing unconfirmed social media reports that Poco Lee had been arrested in the United Kingdom over a separate rape claim.

She framed her decision as a warning about predatory behaviour she believes exists among some industry figures.

The Poco Lee assault allegation remains unverified. No independent corroboration, police records from the Dallas incident, or official response from Poco Lee or his representatives has emerged in available reports. Online discussion has proved divided.

Some users have treated the account seriously and discussed wider concerns about power imbalances in entertainment.

Others have questioned the two-year delay and the timing of the disclosure, which coincided with the circulating but unconfirmed United Kingdom arrest rumours.

Those rumours themselves lack support from UK police statements, court documents or established news organisations.

Poco Lee, born in 1996, has previously faced public criticism. In 2021 he drew backlash after a video showed him making crude remarks about a female dancer during a performance. That earlier episode centred on verbal comments rather than physical contact.

Ms Jorji, born in 1993 and based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, is known for her Afro-trap style and candid public persona.

She has built a career that blends Nigerian roots with American hip-hop influences while also holding engineering qualifications.

The emerging story highlights the difficulties surrounding delayed disclosures of alleged misconduct and the rapid spread of unverified claims on social media.

At present the matter rests solely on Ms Jorji’s public statements. Any formal investigation or response from the parties involved has yet to materialise.
