The Police Service Commission has debunked a recruitment shortlist circulating on social media, describing it as fake and urging members of the public to disregard it.

Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs at the Police Service Commission in Abuja, confirmed the development in a statement on Monday, warning applicants against misinformation linked to the ongoing recruitment exercise.

According to the commission, no such shortlist has been released for candidates scheduled for medical examinations, contrary to claims being widely shared online.

PSC Debunks Fake Recruitment List as it clarified that the evaluation of the written examination is still ongoing and has not yet reached the stage where successful candidates are being contacted for medical screening.

The commission stated that only successful applicants will receive official invitations in the coming days through verified channels, including email, SMS, and the official recruitment portal, npfapplication.psc.gov.ng.

It further emphasised that all legitimate communication will be transmitted strictly through its recognised platforms to prevent confusion and protect applicants from fraudsters.

A secondary highlight of the statement was the commission’s renewed commitment to a merit-based recruitment process, which it said remains central to strengthening the quality and effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.

The PSC also advised applicants and the general public to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to fake news and recruitment scams circulating on social media platforms.

PSC Debunks Fake Recruitment List was reiterated as part of its broader effort to ensure transparency, accuracy, and fairness in the ongoing recruitment exercise.
