Nollywood actress and producer, Amb. Dr Queen Blessing Ebigieson, is gearing up to host a significant charity event for approximately a thousand widows and aged women through her Non-Governmental Organisation, Queen Blessing Foundation (QBF).

The event, a hallmark of her philanthropic efforts, is an annual tradition observed every 14th of February, coinciding with Valentine’s Day. This year’s celebration is scheduled to take place at her country home in Okpella, Afemai land, situated in Edo State.

Established 16 years ago, the Queen Blessing Foundation has been steadfast in its mission to provide solace to widows, offering them emotional support and fostering hope for a brighter future. Additionally, the foundation serves as a platform for empowering young girls, advocating for their self-sufficiency rather than reliance on others, particularly men.

Popularly known as the Black Queen among her admirers, Queen Blessing expressed her unwavering commitment to the cause, stating, “The Queen Blessing Foundation is here to stay and will continue to extend affection and genuine love to vulnerable widows and aged women nationwide, despite the challenges associated with sustaining such initiatives.”

While the foundation’s programmes have predominantly relied on the convener’s funding, recent contributions from patrons, friends, and well-wishers have provided additional support. However, the foundation is actively seeking to broaden its network of supporters, known as QBF partners. In light of this, sponsorship and assistance are being sought from individuals and corporate entities, as the foundation requires over N10,000,000 (ten million Naira) to host this year’s event.
