Shock in Enugu community as mother accuses son of ritual killings and land grabbing. Villagers confront alleged ritualist in Amagunze, Nkanu East LGA

Ritualist accused of killings in a chilling revelation that stunned the Amagunze community in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State.

A woman identified as the mother of the suspect publicly told the traditional ruler and villagers that her own son, Ekene, had been involved in killing people and forcibly taking their land.

The disturbing disclosure unfolded during a confrontation between angry residents and the alleged ritualist, who was brought before the community for questioning.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as tense and emotional, with villagers expressing shock, disbelief, and outrage.

“My son Ekene is killing people and forcefully taking their land,” the woman said without hesitation, leaving the traditional ruler and those present visibly shaken.

The crowd gasped as the elderly mother spoke, describing her son’s alleged actions without fear or protection.

This revelation has heightened concerns about a surge in land-related violence and ritual practices in some rural parts of Enugu State.

While the authorities are yet to confirm the details of the accusations, the villagers insist they have witnessed suspicious activities linked to the suspect.

An eyewitness told reporters, “We’ve been seeing strange things, and when his own mother came forward to confess, it confirmed what many feared.”

It was the second time in recent weeks that residents in Nkanu East had confronted someone suspected of ritualistic practices.

Tensions have been mounting over unresolved land disputes and a spate of mysterious disappearances.

Local leaders have called for calm and urged the security agencies to take up the matter with urgency.

The Igwe of the community has reportedly requested a full investigation and promised to cooperate with law enforcement to bring clarity and justice.

As of now, the suspect’s whereabouts remain uncertain, and there are calls for his immediate arrest. The Enugu State Police Command has not issued an official statement, but sources say the matter is receiving attention.

The case continues to spark intense discussion, especially online, where videos and comments have gone viral.

Many Nigerians are demanding deeper scrutiny of land-grabbing activities linked to criminal networks, particularly in rural areas.
