Rivers APC woos Governor Fubara, promising him automatic party leadership if he defects from his current platform
The reinstated spokesman of the party, Darlington Nwauju, made the remarks on Tuesday during an appearance on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief.

“If I were the governor of Rivers State, on my return on Thursday, I would announce my defection to the All Progressives Congress.
I think the governor should join the APC, and we would gladly receive him into our party,” Nwauju said.
He stressed that by virtue of the APC’s convention, Fubara would automatically assume the role of party leader in Rivers State if he joins.
Nwauju also commented on the six-month tenure of the state’s Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (rtd), stating that the APC had not called for a probe of his administration.
The remarks come as Rivers State prepares for a political reset, with both President Bola Tinubu and the suspended governor expected back in the country on Tuesday ahead of the state’s return to democratic rule on Thursday.

Observers believe that the APC’s open invitation to Fubara could further reshape Rivers’ already charged political landscape, particularly if the governor decides to make the dramatic switch.
