Rivers State House of Assembly has initiated impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Deputy Ngozi Oduh over alleged gross misconduct
The Rivers State House of Assembly has commenced impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Oduh.

During Thursday’s plenary, presided over by Speaker Martins Amaewhule and broadcast live on Channels Television, the Majority Leader, Major Jack, read the notice of allegations and gross misconduct against Fubara.
Twenty-six members of the Assembly signed the notice, which they claim violates the Nigerian Constitution.
Amaewhule stated that the notice will be formally served to Fubara within the next seven days.
The Deputy Majority Leader, Linda Stewart, read a separate notice of allegations and gross misconduct against Oduh.
