Rotarian SDP Running Mate Rtn. Amb. Aderiyike Olu-Kayode joins Hon. Femi Olaniyi on the SDP Lagos governorship ticket
The Charter President of the Rotary Club of Ikeja Township, Rtn. Amb. Aderiyike Olu-Kayode, has emerged as the Social Democratic Party (SDP) deputy governorship candidate for Lagos State, joining the party’s governorship flag bearer, Hon. Femi Olaniyi, popularly known as “Ferrari”, ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.
The development places a prominent Rotarian on one of the state’s governorship tickets, bringing together Hon. Femi Olaniyi’s background in engineering, business and political leadership with Olu-Kayode’s record in humanitarian service, community development and civic engagement.
The Rotarian SDP Running Mate announcement has generated interest within political and civic circles, particularly because of Olu-Kayode’s extensive involvement in humanitarian initiatives and volunteer service.

A trained administrator and serial entrepreneur, Olu-Kayode is the founder of the Olukayode Ariike Foundation, a non-governmental organisation dedicated to supporting widows, vulnerable children, persons living with disabilities and underserved communities. Through the foundation, she has championed programmes centred on empowerment, inclusion and social welfare.
Beyond her humanitarian work, Olu-Kayode has earned recognition within Rotary International through her leadership as Charter President of the Rotary Club of Ikeja Township. Under her leadership, the club has promoted projects focused on community development, education, healthcare and humanitarian service, reflecting Rotary’s guiding principle of Service Above Self.
Speaking on her acceptance, Olu-Kayode reaffirmed her commitment to purposeful leadership and public service.
“Leadership is not measured by the position we occupy, but by the lives we touch and the impact we leave behind. I remain committed to serving humanity, protecting the vulnerable and working towards a Lagos where opportunities are accessible to everyone,” she said.
Hon. Femi Olaniyi brings significant experience from both the private and public sectors. A Chemical Engineer by training, he is the Chief Executive Officer of African Multi Concept Logistics Limited and has built successful interests in manufacturing, logistics, hospitality, contracting and project consultancy.

His political journey includes contesting the House of Representatives election for Ibeju-Lekki Federal Constituency in 2019 and serving as Chairman of the Lagos State Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), where he was recognised for promoting dialogue and cooperation among political parties.
The emergence of the SDP ticket comes as political parties continue to position their candidates ahead of the Lagos governorship contest. Analysts believe the combination of Olaniyi’s administrative and business experience with Olu-Kayode’s humanitarian credentials presents the party with a distinctive narrative centred on leadership, community service and inclusive development.
Although the SDP faces the challenge of competing against larger political parties with established structures, the selection of a respected Rotarian and humanitarian as deputy governorship candidate reflects the party’s effort to broaden its appeal among professionals, community leaders and grassroots voters.
