Rudeboy accuses Mr P and producer of song theft, claiming his twin brother copied his track “Winning” word for word amidst PSquare split.
[dropcap]N[/dropcap]igerian music fans were stunned as Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy and one half of the PSquare duo, accused his twin brother, Peter Okoye (Mr P), of stealing his song.
In a recent social media post, Rudeboy claimed that Mr P’s new track, Winning, is a direct copy of a song he wrote, performed, and recorded with the same producer.

The accusations come months after the third breakup of PSquare, with the siblings parting ways professionally yet again.
Rudeboy took to Instagram, detailing his grievances and expressing disappointment with Mr P and the unnamed producer involved.
He alleged that the producer, who initially worked with him on the song, later passed it to Mr P, resulting in an identical track.
Rudeboy questioned the management’s intentions, highlighting that he had previously submitted six songs to them and expressing frustration over what he saw as a violation of his creative rights.
“How come? Now am I supposed to release another version?” he asked, calling out the producer’s role in the incident.
He further clarified that Winning was initially intended for his upcoming album set for release next year. “Why re-singing my own song word for word? This was supposed to be in my album next year, June,” he explained.
In a more intense follow-up post, Rudeboy warned the management against further replication of his music, threatening to release his original versions if any such duplications occur.
“The days of manipulation are over,” he declared. He concluded the post with a strong message: “Music is not that hard!”
The ongoing fallout between Rudeboy and Mr P marks yet another chapter in the troubled history of PSquare, one of Nigeria’s most iconic music groups.
Fans and industry watchers are awaiting responses from Mr P and the producer regarding these allegations, adding to the anticipation surrounding the fate of PSquare’s musical legacy.
