The Lagos State Infrastructure and Maintenance Agency, LASIMRA, has lost its former general manager, Babajide Odekunle, to the cold hands of death, Freelanews reports.
Odekunle, who took over the job from Joe Igbokwe when he was appointed the agency boss in 2015 by the former governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, was alleged to have died from coronavirus at the Onikan isolation centre.
He was relieved of his post in 2019, when the government of Babajide Sanwo-Olu replaced him with Olufunsho Eluade and dragged to court over allegations of fraud while he was head at the agency.
But following Lagos State application to withdraw the case after ‘a thorough investigation’, the magistrate, Ikeja Magistrate Court, B.O. Osunsanmi, struck out the charges and acquitted Odekunle.
A former secretary of Ikoyi Club, Odekunle was until his death the Bobagunwa of Egbaland.
May his soul rest in peace.
