The remains of a Lagos socialite and philanthropist, Kayode Badru, has finally laid to rest.
Recall that Badru was alleged to have died after being involved in a fire incident at a Celestial Church of Christ in Abule Egba, days after he flew into Nigeria from Dubai for the graduation of 40 church members he sponsored to Academy For Innovative Art And Technology (ACIATECH).
According to a source close to the deceased, the socialite was in the church for Isegun (Victory) program and was said to have knelt down in the middle of the church with candles ignited all around him while the church pastor and elders poured perfumes on his body from head to toe.
His body was said to have caught fire and he was rushed to the hospital at the Gbagada area of Lagos where he eventually gave up the ghost a week later. It is worthy of note that General Hospital in Gbadaga where the deceased was taken is 21km from where the incident happened, an approximate of 43min journey in the absence of traffic holdup.
Kay 7up, as the deceased was fondly called, died on May 4, 2021 and his Christian wake will come up on Thursday, May 20, while interment would take place at his residence in New Oko Oba in Lagos.
He was in his late 40s when he passed away. May his soul rest in peace.
