Babajide Sanwo-Olu earns digital leadership honour as Bodex Social Media Hangout names him Grand Patron ahead of its sixth edition in Lagos

Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been honoured by the Bodex Social Media Hangout (BSMH) for his outstanding contributions to digital engagement and media innovation in Lagos State.

The organisers officially conferred the Lagos State Governor as the Grand Patron of the Bodex Social Media Hangout Initiative ahead of its sixth edition, themed “Social Media and AI Influence: Transforming Yourself, Services, and the Society.”

During a courtesy visit to the governor’s office, the BSMH team led by Convener Bodex Hungbo commended Sanwo-Olu’s forward-thinking policies that continue to drive media innovation and youth development across the state.

“Governor Sanwo-Olu’s digital-forward policies and open engagement with citizens have positioned Lagos as a model for digital governance and media inclusion in Africa,” Hungbo stated.

In response, Babajide Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude for the recognition and praised the BSMH team for promoting responsible media use and bridging the gap between social platforms and societal development.

He reiterated his administration’s dedication to supporting initiatives that strengthen digital literacy and empower young people in Lagos.

As part of the upcoming BSMH 6.0 activities, the governor is expected to deliver the keynote address during the Grand Finale and receive the Most Digital Media Friendly Governor of the Year award a testament to his visionary leadership and commitment to leveraging technology for public engagement and transparent governance.

Now in its sixth year, the Bodex Social Media Hangout continues to serve as a dynamic platform for social media users, innovators, and stakeholders to discuss emerging trends, responsible online behaviour, and the growing influence of artificial intelligence on modern society.
