A viral video showing ongoing road work around Sango Bridge in Sango-Ota, Ogun State, has sparked fresh criticism over the quality and pace of construction in the area.

The video, shared on social media, directly appealed to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and questioned the work being carried out around the bridge.

“Dear Gov. Dapo Abiodun, this is by the Sango Bridge. Check on this your construction gang. It’s all been patch-patch works all the way,” the message accompanying the footage said.

The footage shows workers in protective clothing working on a section of the road, while parts of the surrounding area appear unfinished.

The concerns come against the backdrop of earlier complaints about road works around Sango Bridge. In June 2026, motorists, residents and pedestrians criticised the condition of roads under and around the bridge, with reports describing some construction works as abandoned and contributing to worsening traffic in the area.

At the time, residents complained that the slow pace of work had created difficulties for commuters, while sections of the road were reportedly impassable. The state Commissioner for Works, Ade Akinsanya, responded by suggesting that people should visit the construction site to understand the nature of the work being carried out.

The latest video has therefore added to an existing public debate over the condition of the Sango-Ota road network and the progress of projects around the bridge.
