Sarah Martins has sparked widespread backlash after making controversial remarks about Blessing CEO’s alleged battle with stage 4 breast cancer, linking the illness to the late Bimbo Ogbonna.

The comments, shared via Instagram on Thursday, followed Blessing CEO’s public appeal for financial support for chemotherapy treatment.

Martins reacted by accusing Blessing CEO of previously mocking Bimbo Ogbonna, who died from injuries sustained during a fire incident involving her husband, IVD, in Lagos.

In a strongly worded post, Martins suggested that the late Bimbo Ogbonna’s spirit was responsible for the illness, a claim that has since triggered intense criticism across social media platforms.

The actress further made inflammatory remarks that many observers have described as deeply disturbing and insensitive.

The controversy has revived public attention on the events surrounding Bimbo Ogbonna’s death in 2022, as well as Blessing CEO’s involvement at the time.

Blessing CEO had publicly supported IVD during the incident and later confirmed a relationship with him, culminating in a traditional marriage in 2025.

While Blessing CEO has yet to directly respond to Martins’ latest comments, the situation has escalated into a fierce online debate, with many calling for restraint and empathy given the seriousness of cancer-related claims.

The unfolding dispute underscores the volatile nature of celebrity commentary in Nigeria’s digital space, where personal histories and public statements often collide with powerful and sometimes divisive reactions.
