This significant era saw the presence of numerous political heavyweights, and one prominent figure who stood out during that time was Alhaji Sule Onabiyi, affectionately known as “Baba Adini.”
As a veil of sorrow descends upon the diminishing ranks of the political Musketeers, Senator Daniel reflected on the exceptional leadership provided by Alhaji Onabiyi and his contemporaries during that chapter of history.
The passing of Alhaji Sule Onabiyi brought deep sorrow to the heart of OGD, his family, and his associates. In this challenging moment, Senator Daniel extended his heartfelt condolences to Alhaji Onabiyi’s family and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.
Senator Gbenga Daniel shared his thoughts, saying, “The 2003 governorship elections and the campaign build-ups were filled with events and activities. It was an era marked by the presence of many political gladiators, and Alhaji Sule Onabiyi, whom we affectionately called ‘Baba Adini,’ was one of them.
“As the dark cloud veils the last of the Musketeers, I can only look back with fond memories of the leadership provided by Alhaji Onabiyi and his peers during those years. My family and I will miss him deeply as we pray for his soul to rest eternally with his Maker.
“My heart goes out to the family and associates he left behind.”
