The respected Lagos State Government Director, who served as Director of Procurement at LASRRA, was struck by a vehicle on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near Ibafo, Ogun State.

Talabi was scheduled to retire on 22 October 2025 and had already prepared to mark this milestone with a thanksgiving event at the NERDC Conference Centre in Ikeja.

Her sudden death has sent shockwaves through both the civil service and her community, who regarded her as a dedicated public servant with an impeccable work ethic.

The incident occurred close to the Redeemed Christian Church of God camp, where Talabi suffered fatal injuries.

Family members confirmed that the wake would be held on 23 October, with the burial service following on 24 October at her family home in Ibafo.

Colleagues and friends remember Serifat Olubukola Talabi as a consummate professional whose legacy of service and commitment will be deeply missed.
