In commemoration of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has gifted out food packages to residents of the Agege area of the state.

Obasa carried out the gesture in line with the teachings of the Islamic religion on the need to constantly show love to neighbours.

The food packages were shared to residents across the thirteen wards of Agege Local Government Area and the Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

One of the teams handling the distribution of the food packages was led by a ward chairman, Alhaji Omodele Morufu.

Ahead of the celebration, members of the Obasa Movement’ Committee had also visited residents with packages of food.

The team said they decided to make it a house-to-house distribution so that the packages can get to a larger percent of the residents.

Some of the beneficiaries commended the Speaker for reaching out to them especially at this period of Nigeria’s existence.

“The Speaker has constantly made it a point to bless us at every opportunity. Since the lockdown, he has been doing things for us, some known and some through groups.

“I pray that God should increase his wisdom and give him more grace to continue to serve the people,” Abosede Jimoh, one of the beneficiaries said.
