Shaffy Bello won’t produce films as the Nollywood actress says acting remains her calling and platform for impact.

Nigerian actress Shaffy Bello has opened up about her passion for acting, saying she has no immediate plans to become a film producer despite her long-standing success in Nollywood.

Speaking during an appearance on the Morayo Brown Show, Shaffy Bello said acting gave her the platform and recognition she once prayed for, stressing that she prefers to remain focused on the path she believes aligns with her purpose.

The actress explained that not every successful actor must transition into film production, adding that individuals should recognise and embrace their unique gifts.

“I am an actor. Every actor does not have to be a producer. I face my lane. I do what God asks me to do,” she said.

Shaffy Bello noted that becoming a household name in Nollywood came with pressure and responsibility, describing the journey as both rewarding and challenging.

The actress said she often reflects on the days when she wished for wider recognition, adding that fame eventually became a platform through which she could inspire and influence others.

“He gave me a platform, and after I got that platform, it became so stressful. That once in a while I would remember the days I was on my knees asking to be a household name. Now I am,” she added.

Shaffy Bello won’t produce films, according to the actress, because she believes her strongest impact lies in using her voice and presence as a performer rather than behind the scenes.

She stressed that longevity in filmmaking does not necessarily translate to influence, noting that every creative professional carries a different assignment and strength.

“If God gave you the grace to be a producer, run with it. For right now, I will not say never, I am saying that is not what he is calling me to do,” she said.

In a candid moment during the interview, the actress also spoke about self-worth, confidence and the pressures women sometimes face within the entertainment industry.

Shaffy Bello said many people needed to hear messages encouraging dignity, self-respect and authenticity, especially in an era where social validation often shapes public behaviour.
