For the third consecutive year, Standard Chartered Bank (Nigeria) Limited participated as a Gold Sponsor of the annual Women in Management, Business, and Public Service (WIMBIZ) conference.

Now in its 24th year, the WIMBIZ Annual Conference is among Africa’s most influential gatherings of professional and entrepreneurial women.

It brings together thought leaders, innovators, and policymakers to share ideas, inspire action, and shape conversations around leadership, inclusion, and nation-building.

Held under the theme “Own. Walk. Nurture.”, this year’s event highlighted women’s growing influence in business and public life.

The bank said its sponsorship reaffirms a long-term commitment to advancing gender equality and economic empowerment for women across multiple sectors.

“The partnership underscores the bank’s commitment to driving inclusive growth and unlocking opportunities for women to thrive across sectors,” Standard Chartered said in a statement on Wednesday.

Representing the bank, Olusiji Adeyinka, Executive Director, Compliance, Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Limited, participated in a panel discussion titled “Rethink, Reframe, Revitalize: The Power of Inter-Generational Collaboration.”

Adeyinka noted that collaboration across generations fosters sustainability and balance, adding, “At Standard Chartered, we believe that empowering women is not only the right thing to do — it’s also smart economics. Our collaboration with WIMBIZ aligns with our purpose to drive commerce and prosperity through diversity and inclusion.”

Standard Chartered’s ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion extends beyond sponsorships. The bank’s Futuremakers Women in Technology Incubator Programme supports female-led start-ups, while its Financial Literacy Programme equips adolescents with vital money management skills.

Through these initiatives, Standard Chartered Bank continues to promote a more equitable and sustainable future — one where women have equal access to opportunity, leadership, and economic participation.
