The singer recalled that in his early years, his desperation to find a cure led him to purchase a makeup product that nearly disfigured his face.
“I struggled with acne years back. It was terrible. My desperation to cure it led me to buy a makeup that almost disfigured my face. It was embarrassing. I almost quit music. I couldn’t even approach women then,” he said.
Cheque said the turning point came after the success of his breakthrough song ‘Zoom’ and his subsequent signing with a record label.
He explained that as he began attending interviews and appearing in front of cameras, his perfectionist tendencies drove him to try the makeup, which caused further damage. “I woke up one morning and realised that my whole face has been damaged,” he recalled.
The artist revealed that the ordeal inspired his hit collaboration ‘History’ with Fireboy DML, reflecting both his personal struggles and professional determination.
Cheque also noted that acne had affected his social life, making him wary of public appearances and media attention.
