Tacha Akide announced the accomplishment on Instagram while displaying her Guinness World Records plaques after setting a new benchmark as the fastest makeup artist in the world.
According to the reality star, the feat involved completing 82 makeovers in eight hours and 143 makeovers within 24 hours.
The Tacha Guinness World Record milestone, she said, represents more than speed, highlighting a decade of dedication to her craft.
“Records are broken. Some records are made. 82 makeovers in eight hours. 143 makeovers in 24 hours,” she wrote.
Tacha Akide explained that the achievement reflects 10 years of persistence, discipline and belief in her creative journey.
The former reality television personality also used the moment to pay tribute to her late mother, whom she said laid the foundation for her passion and early skills in makeup artistry.
Tacha Akide said her mother, Stella, who died 12 years ago, played a crucial role in shaping her career and personal drive.
“My mom taught me everything I know today. Deep down, I wouldn’t be anything like who I am today if it weren’t for her,” she wrote.
She added that the most difficult part of the achievement was not being able to celebrate the moment with her mother.
“The hardest part of moments like this is knowing I can’t see you, I can’t hug you, I can’t call you and say: ‘Mummy, your daughter is breaking boundaries,’” she said.
Despite the emotional reflection, Tacha Akide described the achievement as a powerful milestone and expressed gratitude to supporters who encouraged her journey.
The media personality also thanked supporters, including her management team and collaborators, for their continued backing throughout the record attempt.
Reflecting on the journey, Tacha Akide described makeup as her first love and the creative passion that evolved into a global achievement.
She added that while the recognition marks an important chapter, it also signals the beginning of even greater ambitions.
