Tinubu the lion, Obi the mosquito: BATIST fires back as Obidients claim APC obsession

Legendary Joe defends Tinubu as Obidients question APC focus on Obi

BATIST figure Legendary Joe rebukes Obidient supporters, calling Peter Obi a “mosquito” compared to President Tinubu in fiery political debate

A fresh war of words has erupted within Nigeria’s heated political space, as an Obidient supporter, Serah Ibrahim, and BATIST figure, Legendary Joe, traded sharp, metaphor-laced jabs over the relevance of Peter Obi despite not being in power.

Serah Ibrahim, speaking from the Obidient camp, stirred the conversation by questioning why members of the ruling All Progressives Congress continue to focus their attention on Obi rather than their own administration.

According to her, the constant mention of the former presidential candidate reveals deeper political anxiety.

“APC is in power, Peter Obi is not, but guess who APC members talk about every day? Not their government in power, but Peter Obi. It tells you all you need to know… about the person that can take them out of power,” she said.

Her comments quickly ignited reactions, but it was Legendary Joe of BATIST who delivered the most stinging rebuttal, deploying a striking analogy that has since gone viral.

In a fiery response, he dismissed the perceived importance of Obi, likening him to a mere nuisance compared to the stature of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“We talk more about mosquitoes than we do about the Lion, yet when it is time to hang a portrait in the living room, no man reaches for the mosquito. The nuisance earns the mention; the Lion earns the wall,” he declared.

Taking the attack further, Joe described Obi’s appeal as largely performative, arguing that public attention does not translate to real political power.

“Your man offers some entertainment value. A performative mad man will attract more onlookers than some kings command in their palaces. The market always stops for spectacle but when the crowd disperses, it is still the king who sits on the throne.”

He concluded with a blunt assertion that has continued to fuel debate online: “Noise is not power. Crowd is not crown. And relevance borrowed from chaos is returned with interest.”

The exchange highlights the lingering influence of Peter Obi in Nigeria’s political discourse, even outside government, while underscoring the deepening divide between supporters of the ruling party and the ever-vocal Obidient movement.
