The Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, will be headlining the inaugural The Freelanews Leadership and Entrepreneurship Awards (TheFLEA) conference billed to hold on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.

Aregbesola, who was the immediate past governor of Osun State will present the keynote of the Leadership Series where he will be speaking on the event’s theme, “Inspiring the Future Through Quality Visioning and Influential Leadership.”

The keynote will lead up the National Periscope Discourse that will be ably handled by a distinguished panel, led by Chief Olabintan Famutimi, Chairman Tricontinental Group. Famutimi is an accomplished administrator, industrialist, and renown bilateral trade promoter, who has made an indelible impact in the Nigerian business space and has dedicated a large part of his life to the advancement of entrepreneurship, commerce and socio-economic development of the country. He will be bringing his wealth of experience to enhance the discussion around the theme of the conference.

Other esteemed speakers who will join the first panel discussion are Segun Showunmi, a Public Speaker/Politician; Olawale Olaleye, Deputy Editor, ThisDay Newspaper and Tubosun Osifowora, Principal Partner of Osifowora & Co. The session will be moderated by the veteran filmmaker, Fidelis Duker.

During the second session, the conversation will steer a bit away from the subject of core leadership to that of innovation. The session, “Innovation-Driven Policy Making in the Digital Age” will feature a rich lineup of speakers like Prince Dapo Adelegan, former Ondo State Gubernatorial Candidate and Chairman of Celtron Group, Princess Kelechi Oghene, MD/CEO, GMYT Fashion Academy; Tolu Medebem, COO/Lead Consultant, Aster Marketing; and Efe Omorogbe, CEO, Buckwyld Media. This session will be moderated by Oluwanisola Afolabi, Legal Officer, Lagos State.

Speaking on the forthcoming event, Convener of TheFLEA Leadership Conference and publisher of Freelanews, Victor Ojelabi, explained that initiative for the event is to focus the essence of leadership on the paradigm of long-term planning for sustainable development of the nation.

Adding that the event is planned to be an annual exclusive gathering of select public and private sector leaders who are providing such visionary leadership, both in discourse and practice.

“This year’s event is setting the tone for what will become a big platform of discourse for the advancement of leadership and development in Nigeria.

“And having the distinguished honourable minister, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, a veteran leader who has served across different leadership positions as the keynote for the maiden edition of this event is suitable for the times and theme of our event. Other distinguished speakers like Chief Famutimi will also bring indelible experience and contribute to the quality of discussion,” he said.

The event, which is two-fold, will feature an awards gala later in the evening to deserving Nigerians and brands.

“The awards night will be more of a story-telling night, presenting well researched insights on the activities of the awardees with informed projections of their impacts on our society within the next decade. These individuals will receive a symbolic gift to remind them of what our collective futures hold because of what they do,” Ojelabi explained.
