Two hundred and fourty four customers have emerged lucky winners in the Ecobank Ghana Double Salary Promotion which was launched in January 2022 to reward existing and new salaried account holders.

Under the supervision of National Lotteries Authority (NLA), the first draw in Accra in the Greater Accra region saw 86 customers becoming the lucky winners.

76 customers then emerged winners in the second draw held in Kumasi in the Ashanti region, with 82 customers announced as the lucky ones in the third and final draw in Tema in the Greater Accra region.

In an interview with Joy Business, Executive Director of Consumer Banking of Ecobank, Dr. Edward Botchway said the promotion was a way of appreciating its customers.

“The three-month Double Salary Promo was to reward existing and new salaried account holders to enhance customer satisfaction experience. After launching the promotion, some people were skeptical about it”.

“As some customers began to have their salary doubled, the skeptics then questioned the rationale behind the promo. Because we have our customers at heart, we have delivered”, he indicated.

As done in the earlier draws, NLA obtains and validates data of customers and runs the necessary processes before genuine winners could emerge.

At the third and final draw in Tema in the Greater Accra region, customers were placed in seven buckets and picked automatically using Random Number Generation software.

This was done to ensure winners picked are a true reflection of the draw making it very transparent as against manual process which could be questioned sometimes.

Marketing Officer at NLA, Priscilla Akuamoah, explained that the company does not stop at announcing the winners, but ensures they received their prizes as promised in the promo.

Head of Consumer Marketing, Ecobank, Nana Yaa Gyapong made it clear that the promo was opened to all account holders who receive their salaries through the bank.

A salary account with the bank comes with free life insurance coverage of up to GH¢10,000.

The insurance policy covers death, permanent or temporary disability, critical illness, hospitalisation and retrenchment.

Aside these, account holders also have access to the bank’s digital channels among a list of benefits.

Customers of the bank are expected to enjoy exciting packages the bank will roll out in the course of the year.

Some anxious customers of the bank were present to witness the draw.
