The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, sitting in Abuja, has ordered Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike, son of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, to produce his American passport in an ongoing $2.1 million land dispute.

Justice Silvanus Oriji issued the order during proceedings in suit number CV/008/2026, filed by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited against Jordan.

The order followed an application by counsel to the claimants, Hamza Dantani, after Jordan told the court during cross-examination that he was outside Nigeria on September 26, 2025, the date the claimants alleged they handed him the $2.1 million in cash.

When asked which passport he used to travel, Jordan said he travelled with his American passport and could produce it if required.

The court subsequently ordered him to present the document. He produced the passport at the resumed proceedings the following day, after which a photocopy was made for the court record and the original returned to him. The court directed his lawyer to ensure the original is produced whenever required during the trial.

The claimants allege that they first met Jordan in London before later meeting him in Abuja to discuss assistance with acquiring land in the Federal Capital Territory.

According to their case, Jordan agreed to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares in Katampe and another 30 hectares in Guzape. They alleged that he demanded $2.1 million, comprising $2 million allegedly intended for his father and $100,000 described as his personal fee.

The claimants alleged that the money was delivered in cash on September 26, 2025, in the presence of Adamu Sani, Aliyu Sarki and Sai Wani, while Jordan was allegedly accompanied by Onor Sandy.

They further alleged that after receiving the money, Jordan failed to facilitate the land acquisition or refund the funds and subsequently became difficult to reach.

Jordan has denied the allegations and maintained that he did not receive the money or participate in the alleged transaction.

In his defence, he said he was outside Nigeria on the date the claimants said the payment was made. He also disputed documents presented in connection with the alleged deal.

During the proceedings, Jordan told the court that a signature attributed to him on an agreement was forged. He also said he did not know Onor Sandy, whom the claimants alleged accompanied him when the money was handed over.

The claimants are seeking the recovery of the alleged $2.1 million, alongside damages and other reliefs. The court has not made any finding of liability against Jordan, and the allegations remain subject to the ongoing trial.

Justice Oriji has adjourned the matter to December 1, 2 and 14, 2026, for continuation of proceedings.
