Two firms have petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), urging it to investigate allegations of fraud involving Jordan Nyesom-Wike, son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over a disputed $2.1 million land transaction.
The petitioners, Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited, alleged fraud, obtaining money by false pretence, criminal misappropriation and conversion in connection with the transaction.

Their counsel, Ibrahim Waru, told journalists at the Federal High Court in Abuja that the EFCC had acknowledged receipt of the petition but had yet to take action, according to the petitioners’ account.
Waru said a civil case relating to the dispute was already before the FCT High Court.
He explained that the separate petition was intended to prompt an investigation into the alleged criminal aspects of the transaction.
According to the petition, the dispute followed a meeting between the claimant and Jordan in London.
The petition alleged that the two later met in Nigeria and discussed the proposed acquisition of land in the FCT.
The petitioners claimed that Jordan represented that he could facilitate the allocation of 30 hectares of land in Katampe and another 30 hectares in Guzape, allegedly with the knowledge and approval of his father, the FCT minister.
The petition further alleged that Jordan requested $2 million, which he purportedly said would be delivered to the minister to facilitate the allocations, alongside an additional $100,000 described as his personal facilitation fee.
The petitioners alleged that the combined $2.1 million was paid in cash on September 26, 2025, at a residence in Gwarinpa, Abuja, in the presence of two witnesses, identified as Adamu Sani and Aliyu Sarki.
They also alleged that Jordan was accompanied by a man identified as Onor Sandy, whom he introduced as a friend and associate.
According to the petition, Jordan promised to deliver the land allocations within one month but allegedly failed to do so and subsequently became unreachable.
The petitioners said they had submitted supporting materials, including correspondence and WhatsApp exchanges, to the EFCC.
Jordan has denied the allegations in the civil proceedings, according to the report.
He reportedly told the court that he was outside Nigeria on the date the claimants alleged the money was handed over to him.
He also tendered his international passport, saying he had travelled abroad using his American passport during the relevant period.
Justice Silvanus Oriji of the FCT High Court adjourned the civil case, marked CV/008/2026, to December 1 for continuation of hearing.
The claimants have also petitioned the court’s Chief Judge, seeking the removal of Justice Oriji from the case over an alleged relationship with the minister’s family.
The allegations remain claims made by the petitioners.
