Rotarian Winifred Ebiye, Founder and CEO of Ebiwins Business Hub Limited and Charter President of the Rotary Club of Bourdillon Prestige, speaks with Rtn. Victor Ojelabi, Editor of D9112 Monthly, on entrepreneurship, leadership and creating lasting impact through service.
What inspired you to establish Ebiwins Business Hub Limited?
My entrepreneurial journey began in broadcasting, where I discovered my passion for connecting with people. The defining moment came when I compèred a beauty pageant and realised I could create memorable experiences beyond the radio studio.
That inspired me to establish Ebiwins Business Hub Limited, combining my experience in media, communications and event management. My vision has always been simple: to deliver excellence while creating meaningful experiences that leave lasting impressions.
How has Ebiwins Business Hub Limited remained relevant in such a competitive industry?
We remain relevant by focusing on three things: trust, relationships and excellence.
Every event is an opportunity to exceed expectations. We continuously embrace new ideas, invest in innovation and build lasting partnerships with professionals who share our commitment to quality. Rather than competing with others, we challenge ourselves to be better than our previous performance.

Why did you choose to become a one-stop event and media solutions provider?
Our philosophy is built on trust. When clients trust you, they stay with you and recommend you to others.
By providing media, public relations, branding, live streaming, event coordination and audiovisual solutions under one roof, we make life easier for our clients while ensuring consistent quality. We proudly describe ourselves as a Media Excellence Hub.
What has been your biggest entrepreneurial lesson?
Relocating to Lagos in 2018 meant leaving behind everything we had built and starting from scratch.
That experience taught me resilience, courage and adaptability. I learned that every challenge creates an opportunity for growth if you remain focused on your vision and refuse to give up.
How is technology shaping your business?
Technology has transformed how we serve our clients.
We leverage digital communication, strategic PR and innovative media solutions to amplify our clients’ stories. Our work on the launch of Africa’s robotic surgery platform demonstrated how technology can create global visibility and meaningful collaborations.
What advice would you give aspiring entrepreneurs?
Build a business around purpose, not just profit.
Nigeria presents many challenges, but passion, resilience and continuous learning will keep you moving forward. Solve real problems, build genuine relationships and stay consistent. Sustainable businesses are built with patience and perseverance.
What inspired your Rotary journey?
My Rotary journey began through Rotaract while I was at the University of Benin and was later strengthened by a mentor who introduced me to Rotary.
As a broadcast journalist, I naturally became passionate about Rotary Public Image. Accepting the role of Charter President gave me the opportunity to build a new club from the ground up and contribute to a lasting legacy of service.
How has Rotary influenced your leadership?
Rotary taught me that leadership is about influence, not authority.
Unlike business, Rotary is driven by volunteers. That has strengthened my patience, emotional intelligence and ability to inspire people. At the same time, my business background has helped me bring strategic thinking and accountability into Rotary.
What legacy do you hope to leave as Charter President?
I want Rotary Club of Bourdillon Prestige to be known as a club that genuinely transforms lives.
Within days of receiving our charter, we delivered impactful health projects because our focus is not the number of projects we execute but the difference they make. Lasting impact will always be our greatest legacy.
What message would you like to leave with Rotarians and business leaders?
Pursue purpose, not just profit.
Build trust, create value and lead through service. Success is not only about what you achieve personally but about the lives you positively influence. When excellence and service become your lifestyle, significance naturally follows.
