Edochie made the remarks during an appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, where he addressed controversies that have surrounded him in recent years, including his support for President Bola Tinubu and his decision to marry a second wife.
According to the actor, he has faced sustained criticism both online and offline because of his views and personal choices.
Despite the backlash, Edochie said he remains resilient and continues to enjoy success in the entertainment industry.
“Despite all the smear campaign against me, I’m still standing strong. I’m still the best actor in Nollywood. They attacked me because I supported Tinubu.
They attacked me because I decided to marry another wife. But none of that can stop my shine,” he said.
The actor maintained that his body of work and years of experience in the industry continue to speak for themselves.
Edochie argued that his professional accomplishments cannot be undermined by public opinion, stressing that he has earned his place through years of dedication and performance.
“Love me or hate me, you cannot take away my talent. I have paid my dues in this industry. People know the truth. They know what I can do as an actor,” he added.
The comments have generated fresh discussion among fans and industry observers, many of whom have debated Edochie’s self-assessment and his place among Nollywood’s leading performers.
Edochie, the son of veteran actor Pete Edochie, has remained one of the most talked-about figures in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, with his political views and family life frequently attracting public attention.
While some supporters praised the actor’s confidence and resilience, others questioned his claim to being the industry’s top performer, highlighting the competitive nature of Nollywood and the achievements of other established stars.
Nevertheless, Edochie’s latest remarks reinforce his determination to remain a prominent voice in the industry despite the controversies that have followed him in recent years.
