The Ministry of Environment in Lagos State has declared its unwavering commitment to ensuring a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment that will not only benefit its citizens but also promote tourism and economic growth.

In a statement released and made available to Freelanews, the Honourable Commissioner, Tokunbo Wahab, emphasised the significance of a pristine environment in guaranteeing a high quality of life for all Lagosians.

Wahab, who assumed office today, expressed his determination to create a cleaner and safer environment for the people of Lagos.

He affirmed that the ministry’s primary focus is to ensure that the air remains pure, the water safe to drink, and the natural resources protected. By achieving these goals, the ministry aims to prioritize the health, safety, and overall well-being of the citizens.

In his address, Wahab called on the residents of Lagos to unite in their pursuit of a #GreenerLagos.

He appealed to them to join forces and turn their shared dream into a reality. The commissioner believes that through collective efforts, Lagos can become a shining example of progress and sustainability, setting a benchmark for other cities to follow.

The ministry aims to implement necessary measures, in collaboration with the citizens, to achieve their vision and transform Lagos into a truly remarkable place to live and visit.

Wahab assured the public of the ministry’s commitment to making a lasting impact and encouraged them to lend their support to this important cause.

He wrote:

The mandate of the Ministry of Environment is of the utmost importance to us. Our primary goal is to secure a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment that promotes tourism, boosts economic growth, and enhances the overall well-being of the citizens.

We understand the significance of a pristine environment in ensuring a high quality of life for everyone. With your support, we will work towards achieving this vision and transform Lagos into a truly remarkable place to live and visit.

As I resume office today, I would like to assure all Lagosians that we are fully committed to delivering a #GreenerLagos. We are determined to create a cleaner and safer environment where the air we breathe is pure, the water we drink is safe, and the natural resources we have are protected. Your health, safety, and well-being are our top priorities, and we will employ all necessary measures to achieve these goals. Together, let us build a future where sustainability and progress go hand in hand.

Dear Lagosians, let us join forces and make our dream of a #GreenerLagos a reality. Together, we can achieve great things and make Lagos a shining example of progress and sustainability.

Thank you!
