No amount of spent force will save you from electoral disgrace, PDP mocks Abiodun, APC

Hon. Ladi Adebutu and Gov. Dapo Abiodun

The All Progressives Congress (APC) government led by Dapo Abiodun in Ogun State has been accused of prioritizing personal interests over the welfare of the people.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ogun State Chapter, has voiced its concerns through its publicity secretary, Asiwaju Akinloye Bankole, stating that the state resources are being misused for political gains instead of being directed towards the development .

The PDP argued that with only a few months left in his term, it is expected that Abiodun would focus on benefiting the residents of Ogun State. However, the reality seems to be quite the opposite.

The party criticizes the current government’s lack of commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities before the legitimate mandate owner takes over.

Read full statement below.

Just when we thought the current socioeconomic difficulties being experienced by the residents of Ogun State would be a major source of sober reflection for the outgoing Dapo Abiodun-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government, it is however a very disturbing reality that the core issues of public concerns have not been meaningfully tackled by the State government.

Ordinarily, it is expected that the few months that Mr. Dapo Abiodun has left to hang on to the illegal mandate which he currently holds, would be used optimally for the good and benefit of the good people of the State before he leaves for the legitimate mandate owner to take over but this seems far from the reality.

For the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Ogun State Chapter, it is very worrisome that the State resources in Mr. Abiodun’s care are now being used to procure all available political forces against the State government in Mr. Abiodun’s desperate bid to join the table where the common political forces against the State in anticipation of a possible return election are being shared, gratuity of retirees, construction and maintenance of State roads and other infrastructural services serving other purposes, is being sliced and consumed without shame or empathy.

Today, the government circle was in a frenzy as it was the turn of, another badly used rags, some disgruntled and stranded members of the SIA political movement led by one Chief Derin Adeniyi to join the table where the common political forces against the State where he should have been better deployed to paying workers salaries, gratuity of retirees, construction and maintenance of State roads and other infrastructural services serving other purposes, is being sliced and consumed without shame or empathy.

It is common knowledge that since May 2023, Mr. Abiodun has found it extremely difficult to settle down for purposeful governance, he has been increasingly tormented by the spirit of the stolen mandate which he desperately hopes to keep. This explains the reasons why he is still busy running election campaigns and struggling so hard for help. Of course, it is said that there is no peace for the wicked.

In the face of Mr. Abiodun and his fizzling APC’s voyage of a senseless spending spree, we make bold to inform members of the public, our neglected senior citizens, traumatized civil servants and overstretched residents of the Ogun State that no amount of gang-up against the people shall stand. Mr. Abiodun and his gang of procured legs will not spend an extra day in government; as none of his several electoral infractions during the March Governorship elections and brazen incompetence in the conduct of business of government will be rewarded by either the election tribunal or the good people of Ogun State who have endured unprecedented wickedness, hopelessness and outright incompetence even if a rerun election is ordered by the tribunal.
