Ansar-ud-deen Society set to celebrate centenary with president’s four-day visit to Ogun State

The Ansar-ud-deen Society, a prominent Islamic organization in Nigeria, is set to celebrate a century of existence from August to December 2023.

According to a press statement co-signed by the State Council Chairman, Alhaji Muhibudeen Allinson and State Council Secretary, Alhaji Lateef Oridota, and made available to Freelanews, Aare (Dr.) Abdul-Rafiu Ademola Sanni, the President of the society, is scheduled to embark on a four-day visit to Ogun State from Wednesday, 22nd November to Saturday, 25th November, 2023 as part of the centenary festivities.

The celebration will kick off on Wednesday with a humanitarian visit to the School for Children with Special Needs in Sagamu, featuring donations of food and household items.

A series of scheduled visits to key figures in Ogun State, including His Excellency, Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, and traditional rulers such as the Alake of Egbaland and the Akarigbo of Remoland, are also planned.

Thursday’s agenda includes a Public Lecture titled “Ansar-ud-deen @ 100: Contributions and Projections” by Emeritus Professor Kamaldeen Balogun, along with the conferment of the Centenary Award on Distinguished Members at Bolohunsowo Hall, Ijebu-Ode.

The centenary tour continues on Friday, featuring the official commissioning of legacy projects dedicated to educational purposes at Ansar-ud-deen International College, Oke-Ata Abeokuta, and Ansar-ud-deen Model Academy Ilaro.

The day will conclude with a courtesy call on the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle.

Throughout the visit, the presidential team will engage with executive members of the society, pupils, students, and staff of Ansar-ud-deen Schools.

The centenary celebration will culminate in the departure of the presidential team from the state on Saturday, 25th November, 2023.
