[dropcap]I[/dropcap]n a series of recent social media posts, Babatunde Gbadamosi, the former governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, and later, a member of the Labour Party, has taken to advising Yoruba men on potential red flags in their marriages.

His candid remarks have sparked discussions and raised eyebrows among netizens.

Gbadamosi, known for his outspoken nature, particularly in political circles, turned his attention to marital advice.

In one of his posts, he warned Yoruba men about a specific phrase that might be uttered by their wives.

According to him, if a wife proudly declares, “Èmi iná ọmọ ọ̀rara” (I am fire, an element that burns), it is a sign to end the marriage, as she might pose a threat in the future.

“Dear Yoruba men, the day your wife beats her chest and says “Èmi iná ọmọ ọ̀rara”, end that marriage.
She will burn you one day,” he wrote.

This particular post gained traction, with many expressing their views in agreement or disagreement.

One commenter, Adeseyi Adekunle, shared Gbadamosi’s sentiments and suggested sending such wives back to the streets. Babatunde responded, expressing regret for not having done so.

“Exactly. Throw her back to the streets where she belongs,” Adekunle wrote. Gbadamosi replied, “Unfortunately, I didn’t.”

The politician didn’t stop there, revealing personal details about his own experiences.

“4 husbands, 5 children from 3 different men. ALL children ENSTRANGED from their fathers. One child deceased, & abandoned in death,” he wrote.

“When a woman bribes MOPOL to break her husband’s leg to prove she’s “powerful”, the man who stays with such a woman is a fool.”

Babatunde further warned men not to ignore rumors that paint them as villains while presenting their wives as saints. He advised men to leave problematic marriages before it is too late.

“Dear Men, don’t ignore any ugly rumours painting you as a devil & your “wife” as a saint. Leave her before it’s too late,” he wrote in another.

The timing of these posts has raised questions about which of his marriages and experiences he is referencing.

In 2022, Gbadamosi’s marriage to Sade Balogun, CEO of Redbricks Home International Limited, faced public scrutiny during a messy separation.

Despite the challenges, the politician has allegedly remarried another woman.

The outspoken nature of the politician has once again stirred conversations, not only about marriage but also about the complexities of his personal life.
