In a video circulating on social media, a moment captured during what appears to be a courtesy call on Nigerian President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by the former governor of Kano State and current chairman of the ruling party, Abdullahi Ganduje and his son has sparked outrage and heated debate across the nation.

The clip, which quickly went viral, depicts an exchange where Ganduje’s son, whose name has not been disclosed, initiates a handshake with President Tinubu.

Despite the traditional protocol dictating that the elder should extend his hand first, the president responds to the son’s gesture, with Ganduje seen in the background seemingly amused by the interaction.

The incident has triggered widespread condemnation amongst Nigerians, particularly those from the southwestern region, who perceive the act as a blatant display of disrespect towards an elder and a disregard for the esteemed office of the president.

Calls for an apology have been echoed across various social media platforms and communities.
