Nigerian music star Davido marked his wife Chioma’s birthday by publicly affirming his loyalty to her, despite what he described as “distractions” aimed at their relationship.

In a recent video on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Davido addressed unspecified criticisms or negative attention toward their marriage, encouraging his followers to ignore them.

“They were trying to distract us baby no mind them …,” Davido wrote in the post, indicating his commitment to their relationship amidst external pressures.

The post showed Davido and Chioma arriving at a resort, presumably to celebrate her birthday together.

Last week, Davido also surprised Chioma with bundles of cash and bouquets of roses ahead of her 29th birthday.

He shared pictures of these gifts on Instagram, including stacks of cash, luxurious items, and a personalized note.

Alongside the cash, Chioma received a bouquet of roses as they enjoyed a fine dining experience.

Chioma, a chef, media personality, and influencer by profession, will turn 29 on May 1. Davido confirmed his marriage to Chioma after years of speculation in March 2023.

The couple, who are parents to twins, exchanged vows in a traditional wedding ceremony on 6 November 2022, held at Davido’s father’s residence.

The event was an intimate affair, with only close family and friends in attendance, and no cameras allowed.
