Architect and Chief Executive Officer of The Architects Place Ltd, a company with specialty in Design and Construction, Arch. Teju Ajayi has announced the passing of his father, Pa Julius Dada Ajayi.
The Lagos socialite made the sad news public Saturday, April 18th, 2020 in the afternoon.
His late father transitioned into glory on the auspicious date of his 73rd birthday at about 4:40 pm at a private hospital in Magodo Phase 1, Lagos.
Born Friday, April 18, 1947, in Itaogbolu, Akure-North local government of Ondo State, Southwest Nigeria, into the noble family of Late Pa Chief Rufus Ajayi.
Teju Ajayi’s late dad until his retirement in 2007 was a Superintendent in the Nigerian Customs Service.
Reacting to the demise of his acclaimed superhero, Teju Ajayi explained that although his late dad had taken ill for a while, the family was optimistic he would recuperate.
As such, his demise came as a shock to the family.
“Baba’s demise came as a shock to everyone. No one was expecting it. Although, he was sick, hospitalized and then passed on. My dad was someone that was contented with whatever he had.
“He believed in contentment, hard work, and service to humanity. He was a lover of Christ, he was a pianist in the church at Anglican. He was a lover of music. At home, mostly in the morning, he would play hymns and sing worship songs. He would be greatly missed. We take solace in the fact that he lived a good life,” Teju remarked.
As regards funeral arrangement, TejuOga, as he is fondly called, explains that plans have been stalled, pending an end to the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic, and social distancing orders relaxed.
Late Pa Julius Ajayi is survived by his widow, Mrs. Christianah Abosede Ajayi, and the children, Seyi Ajayi, Teju Ajayi, Gbemisola Ajibade (nee Ajayi), Damola Ajayi and Adedayo Ajayi (Dplus).
