Adegbola claims that Hajia sold their house and car without his consent, falsely portraying herself as a widow to facilitate the transactions.
According to Adegbola’s statement, the house was sold to Mr. Idowu Shodipe under the pretense of being a widow, and additional items including a Honda Pilot jeep, a laptop, and a Canon camera were also sold. Adegbola further alleges that Hajia took away some of his academic certificates.
The journalist also accused the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Itele in Ogun State, Juliana Yusuf, of complicity in the sale of his properties.
Adegbola recounted their appearance at the Zone 2 Police Command in Onikan, Lagos, where CSP Adegbite Omotayo led an investigation revealing forged documents used to sell the house located at 25 Orinsunbare Street, Itele, Ogun State.
Hajia allegedly confessed to the crime, and an agreement was reached for Mr. Shodipe and his family to vacate the property by June 4, 2024.
However, during an inspection of the house on July 20, 2024, Adegbola discovered that Mr. Shodipe’s family was still occupying the property, despite the agreed deadline.
Community leaders, including the CDA Zone 1 Chairman, Mr. Sharafa Oguntade, and his secretary intervened in the dispute. Mr. Shodipe’s lawyer requested leniency while Shodipe reportedly threatened Adegbola.
Adegbola also claimed that the DPO of Itele, Juliana Yusuf, instructed the arrest of a fellow landlord, Alfa, who was present at the scene, and threatened to arrest Adegbola if he approached the house again.
The marital issues between Adegbola and his wife reportedly began in 2022, with accusations of infidelity and physical threats.
Adegbola described incidents where his wife allegedly threatened him with a knife, forcing him to flee their home.
