A man identified as Fatai Mogaji has been apprehended after allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend, Opeyemi, in Lagos. The suspect had been on the run after reportedly stabbing the deceased multiple times.
According to reports, Opeyemi reunited with Mogaji on July 10, 2024, at a club in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state. They decided to spend time together, but around 5 a.m., an argument ensued, and Mogaji allegedly stabbed Opeyemi 22 times.
The deceased’s sister confirmed the latest development on Monday, August 5. She stated that Mogaji was caught at a bar in Ikorodu and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Panti, Yaba.
“Good evening Friends, My sister’s killer (Fatai Mogaji Abdulsalam) was caught last night at F1 Bar Ikorodu by well-wishers and Ope’s friends. He has been moved to Panti Police Station,” she wrote.
Mogaji is now in police custody, awaiting further investigation and legal proceedings.
