The challenges for Team Nigeria continued on Thursday as Tobi Amusan, the world record holder in the 100m hurdles, failed to qualify for the final of the event at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Amusan, who had earlier shown promise by winning her heat with a time of 12.49 seconds on Wednesday, could not replicate that performance in the semi-final. She finished third in her heat with a time of 12.55 seconds.
Despite her efforts, Amusan missed out on the two automatic qualification spots and was unable to secure a place in the final as one of the fastest losers. This marks a disappointing end to her Olympic campaign, as she was widely expected to contend for a medal.
