PDP has accused APC of planning violence ahead of the November 16 Ondo State governorship election, urging security agencies to act.

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]s the November 16 Ondo State governorship election approaches, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of planning to incite violence during the polls.

The allegations were made in a statement issued by Ayo Fadaka, Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) to the PDP Campaign Organisation.

The PDP urged President Bola Tinubu to caution Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa from using state resources to disrupt security ahead of the election.

The statement also called on the Inspector General of Police and other security leaders to take proactive steps to prevent any violence allegedly planned by the APC.

PDP claims that the state governor has already made strategic moves to compromise peace in the state.

In response, Steve Otaloro, APC Director of Media and Publicity, denied the allegations, describing them as baseless.

He assured the public that Governor Aiyedatiwa is committed to ensuring peace and security in the state, dismissing the PDP’s claims as a distraction and urging them to focus on issue-based campaigning.
