He shared his frustration on Instagram, stating that legitimate business now feels “useless” amid rising economic difficulties, including a recent hike in fuel prices by the NNPCL.

In a post on Instagram, Afolayan stated that operating a legitimate business in Nigeria has become futile given the country’s economic situation.
In his message, the actor, speaking in pidgin English, shared his frustrations about the current state of the Nigerian economy, saying he now regrets not engaging in fraudulent activities when it was discussed widely.
He posted, “All of the days wey dem dey talk about yahoo yahoo, na today I regret pass say I no do am. Legitimate hustling never felt super useless.”
The post came shortly after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) announced a significant increase in fuel prices, from N617 to N897 per litre.
This price hike, combined with the general economic hardship in the country, has led many citizens, including Afolayan, to voice their concerns and frustrations.
Afolayan’s candid remarks have sparked mixed reactions online, with some sympathising with his sentiments, while others criticised the endorsement of fraudulent activities, even in jest.
