The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has condemned the recent kidnapping of two nurses and two patients in Kaduna State, urging security agencies to take immediate action.

 

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]bbas Tajudeen, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has expressed his deep concern over the abduction of two nurses and two patients from the Primary Healthcare Centre in Kuyallo community, Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

The incident occurred on Monday when bandits attacked the facility after their initial plan to kidnap students from a local secondary school failed.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Speaker Tajudeen condemned the increasing boldness of bandits and kidnappers in Nigeria. He described the attack on the health facility as particularly alarming, highlighting the vulnerability of hospitals and healthcare workers in the region.

“The activities of bandits have become too rampant, especially with the last attack on vulnerable targets like a hospital,” he stated. He called on security agencies to take urgent action to rescue the kidnapped individuals and ensure their safe return.

The Speaker urged security forces to prioritize the immediate retrieval of victims, emphasizing that no Nigerian should remain in captivity due to the actions of criminals. “Our security forces need to, as a matter of emergency, go after the abductors and rescue those abducted from the health facility,” Tajudeen added.

He also called for sustained efforts to eliminate the threats of kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism throughout the country, underscoring the need for a comprehensive approach to tackle these issues.
