Mikel Arteta has signed a new three-year contract with Arsenal, securing his future ahead of a clash with Tottenham.

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]rsenal manager Mikel Arteta has officially signed a new three-year contract with the Premier League club, putting an end to uncertainty about his future.

The 42-year-old has been at the helm since 2019, leading the Gunners to two consecutive second-place finishes in the league. With only 12 months left on his previous contract, Arteta had called for calm regarding his situation, emphasizing that his focus remained on the transfer window.

This new agreement comes just ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League match against London rivals Tottenham on Sunday. Arteta, a former Arsenal player, took over from Unai Emery after leaving his coaching role at Manchester City. Since then, he has revitalised the club, making them serious title contenders once again.

In his first season, Arteta led the Gunners to victory in the FA Cup, and they have finished as runners-up in the Premier League for the last two seasons, engaging in thrilling title battles against Manchester City.

Currently, Arsenal sits fourth in the league table after two wins and a draw and is set to begin its Champions League campaign next week against Atalanta.
