The track has been eagerly anticipated since Wizkid teased its release on his Instagram page, heightening excitement among his fans.
Now, with the song finally available, it’s generating buzz in the music world as it marks Wizkid’s first solo release in some time.
“Piece of My Heart” blends the distinct sounds of Afrobeats and R&B, with Wizkid’s signature smooth vocals complementing Brent Faiyaz’s emotionally charged chorus.
Faiyaz sings, “Nothing can tear us apart, you’ve got a piece of my heart,” encapsulating the track’s theme of unshakable love and passion. The heartfelt lyrics, alongside the seamless production by P2J and Dpat, make this collaboration a standout.
Wizkid, who has been relatively quiet on the solo front this year, has only featured in a few collaborations, such as “MMS” with Asake on his Lungu Boy album, and “Work Me Out” with Shenseea from her Never Gets Late Here project. However, “Piece of My Heart” offers a glimpse into the direction of his new album, with fans already expressing excitement for Morayo.
