Gospel artist Dare Melody opens up on how his family’s actions impacted his late wife Adedoyin, who passed away from a heart condition.

[dropcap]P[/dropcap]opular Nigerian gospel musician Damilare Odunuga, better known as Dare Melody, has shared a heartfelt account of the struggles his late wife, Adedoyin Odunuga, faced within his family.

Adedoyin, who died on 24 October 2024 from a heart-related condition, endured a challenging journey, which Dare Melody revealed in an emotional video posted on Kilarigbo’s YouTube channel.

In the viral video, Dare Melody described how his family’s actions had a detrimental impact on Adedoyin’s well-being, explaining that he often had to reassure her amidst the difficulties.

“My family frustrated Adedoyin,” he said. “I would hold her and say, ‘Adedoyin, I am the one you got married to. When you see me, put your mind at rest.’”

He praised her loyalty, recounting how she supported him through hard times, even when they had little.

Reflecting on how Adedoyin’s unwavering support helped him through a critical phase of his music career, he shared how a friend encouraged him to build a house in recognition of her devotion.

“A friend called me and said, ‘This woman stood by you; let’s build a house for her,’ and I agreed, saying, ‘everything I have belongs to her.’”

Dare Melody and Adedoyin, married in October 2017, shared a bond strengthened by adversity.

Together, they have three daughters, and her passing has left a profound impact on the musician, who continues to honour her memory and the sacrifices she made for their family.
