Soludo highlighted his focus on delivering security, infrastructure, economic transformation, human capital development, governance, and environmental sustainability.

Speaking on his administration’s priorities, Soludo emphasised that the security of Anambra citizens remains paramount to achieving economic and transformational goals.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo assured residents of continuous efforts to strengthen the state’s security architecture, fostering peace and supporting business growth.

“Ndi Anambra will fully experience our zero tolerance to criminality. Together as a people, we must bond to defeat criminals among us,” Governor Soludo declared.

This pledge came during the presentation of the 2025 fiscal year budget, totalling N606.99 billion, to the Anambra State House of Assembly in Awka. The new budget reflects a 48% increase from the previous year’s N410.13 billion budget.

Highlights of the 2025 Budget: Changing Gears 2.0

The 2025 budget, titled “Changing Gears 2.0,” prioritises acceleration and execution across key sectors.

  • Capital Expenditure: N467.5 billion (77% of the total budget, 48.9% YoY growth).
  • Recurrent Expenditure: N139.5 billion (23% of the budget, 45% YoY growth).
  • Budget Deficit: Estimated at N148.3 billion, reduced to 24% from 30% in 2024.

Soludo’s administration aims to drive transformative growth, particularly in infrastructure development.

Infrastructure Achievements and Projects

The governor highlighted significant progress in road infrastructure:

  • 310 kilometres of roads asphalted in 30 months with top-notch quality.
  • Ongoing completion of the Ekwulobia flyover and bus terminal.
  • Dualisation of the 34-kilometre Amawbia-Agulu-Ekwulobia-Uga-Imo State border highway.
  • Dualisation of the 36-kilometre Nwagu Agulu-Nnobi-Nnewi-Ozubulu-Okija route, connecting the Onitsha-Owerri highway.
