Tinubu’s economic reforms, including tax overhauls and strengthened military capabilities, are fostering growth and unity in Nigeria.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle, has praised President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms and policies, describing them as catalysts for significant positive changes in Nigeria’s economy.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by the Ministry of Defence’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr Henshaw Ogubike, Matawalle highlighted several key initiatives, including new tax reforms, that are fostering economic growth and improving livelihoods across the country.

“These policies, including pivotal tax reforms, are already contributing to an economic turnaround that will ultimately benefit all Nigerians,” Matawalle stated.

Amid ongoing criticism, particularly from some quarters in Northern Nigeria, the minister urged citizens to embrace positivity in their narratives and reject divisive rhetoric.

“I urge critics to be constructive and supportive. Nigerians must stand united behind President Tinubu, who is diligently revitalising the economy through effective policies and reforms,” he said.

Matawalle underscored the importance of the new tax reforms, describing them as a foundation for sustainable economic development.

He explained that these measures are designed to create a fairer tax system, broaden the tax base, and reduce the financial burden on small businesses and ordinary citizens.

“By ensuring equitable taxation, President Tinubu is boosting revenue generation while stimulating investment and job creation across diverse sectors,” he noted.

The reforms also aim to streamline tax administration processes, fostering a more business-friendly environment that encourages innovation and entrepreneurship.

In addition to economic reforms, the minister highlighted the administration’s efforts in bolstering national security.

Significant investments in modern military hardware and timely payment of personnel salaries have enhanced morale and operational efficiency within the armed forces.

“Under President Tinubu’s leadership, we are witnessing renewed commitment to the safety and well-being of all Nigerians. The progress in strengthening our military is a testament to this dedication,” Matawalle added.

Dr Matawalle concluded by reaffirming the administration’s commitment to delivering tangible results that address the nation’s challenges.

He called on Nigerians to remain steadfast in their support for ongoing reforms and recognise the positive developments taking place.
