North-Central APC Forum supports Tinubu for second term

The North-Central APC Forum endorses President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027, highlighting progress in infrastructure, security, and the economy.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has declared its unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu’s bid for re-election in 2027.

Following a crucial meeting in Abuja on Sunday, the Forum expressed its full endorsement of Tinubu, citing the substantial progress made in the North-Central zone since his administration began in 2023.

In a statement signed by the Forum’s Chairman, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, the group praised the President for extending numerous opportunities to the region, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, security, and economic policies.

The Forum’s decision comes despite emerging opposition from key northern socio-political bodies, such as the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and its youth wing, the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), which have recently voiced concerns about Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The statement emphasised that the North-Central zone had not experienced such development and attention under any previous administration since Nigeria returned to democracy in 1999.

The Forum acknowledged the significant infrastructural projects initiated by the Tinubu administration, as well as the enhanced security situation, which has notably improved the lives of local farmers who previously faced challenges due to insecurity.

“Before now, it was difficult for our people, who are mostly farmers, to go to their farms because of insecurity. But now, due to the leadership provided by Mr President, our people can return to their farms with ease,” the statement read.

The North-Central APC Forum also hailed Tinubu’s economic policies, noting positive impacts such as the strengthening of the Naira, increased oil production, and rising foreign reserves.

The group expressed confidence that Tinubu’s leadership would continue to yield favourable results, particularly in the petroleum sector, where shortages have been eradicated, and prices are expected to decrease, helping curb inflation.

Following a thorough assessment of the President’s policies, the Forum declared that no other leader has provided as much support to the North-Central region as President Tinubu.

This evaluation led them to conclude that Tinubu is the right person to continue guiding Nigeria towards greater prosperity.

The Forum has called for the establishment of a North-Central Development Commission (NCDC) and urged the President to extend more developmental projects to the region.

Additionally, the group voiced its hope that Tinubu would continue to support initiatives that benefit all Nigerians, while reaffirming its commitment to his re-election.

The endorsement also follows the recent defection of two Plateau State House of Representatives members, Alfred Ajang Illiya and Daniel Chollom, from the Labour Party to the APC.

The Forum sees these defections as further evidence of the growing political support for President Tinubu in the North-Central zone.

“The defection of some members of the House of Representatives to the APC is a sign that President Tinubu is widely accepted in the North-Central. We expect more defections in the coming days,” the Forum stated.

As the 2027 elections approach, the North-Central APC Forum assured Tinubu of the region’s continued backing, promising to work towards his re-election just as they did in 2023.

The North-Central APC Forum’s endorsement serves as a powerful boost to President Tinubu’s bid for a second term, as the Forum continues to advocate for policies that drive the nation forward.
