The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has reaffirmed that the critical responsibility of defending Nigeria’s sovereignty is entrusted to individuals with exceptional traits and dedication.

Speaking on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the Passing Out Parade for Basic Military Training Course 44/2023 at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base in Kaduna, Air Marshal Abubakar commended the graduating recruits for their resilience and commitment throughout their rigorous training.

“This deliberately challenging training has shaped you into warriors, tradesmen, and leaders with courage, discipline, and resilience. You are now integral to the NAF’s mission to protect our nation’s sovereignty,” he stated.

He urged the new airmen and airwomen to adhere to the NAF’s core values of integrity, service before self, and excellence, while emphasizing the importance of respecting civilians and upholding professional conduct. He reminded them of their duty to abide by the rules of engagement, protect human rights, and maintain the dignity of their uniform.

Highlighting their role in tackling Nigeria’s security challenges, the CAS called on the recruits to embrace lifelong learning and professional development to enhance their operational effectiveness.
