Fani-Kayode condemns UK’s handling of grooming gangs, questioning their moral authority while accusing leaders of systemic child abuse cover-ups

[dropcap]F[/dropcap]ormer Nigerian minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has criticised the British government for its handling of child abuse cases allegedly linked to grooming gangs.

In a statement shared online, Fani-Kayode expressed outrage over the British Parliament’s recent rejection of a motion for a public inquiry into allegations of mass rape by “Pakistani gangs.”

He also claimed that Prime Minister Keir Starmer, during his tenure as Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), failed to prosecute offenders, further enabling such crimes.

The statement accused UK political leaders and law enforcement of covering up heinous sexual crimes against children.

Fani-Kayode compared the situation to Nigeria, asserting that while the country faces challenges, it is not plagued by systemic abuses of this nature.

He criticised UK-based Nigerian politician Kemi Badenoch, who has previously referred to Nigeria as “hell on earth,” for her perceived silence on these issues in the UK.

Highlighting the gravity of the allegations, Fani-Kayode questioned Badenoch’s stance, calling her views hypocritical. He accused the UK establishment of tolerating crimes against minors while claiming moral superiority.

His comments sparked widespread reactions online, with some supporting his critique and others labelling it as inflammatory.

The controversy over the rejection of the inquiry into grooming gangs has reignited debates on how the UK addresses systemic abuse.

Advocacy groups have demanded transparency and justice for victims, while critics like Fani-Kayode have used the incident to spotlight perceived double standards in global governance.

Read full statement below.

On a day when the British Parliament has rejected the motion for a public inquiry into the mass rape of little children by wild Pakistani gangs in the name of “grooming” and one in which it has been alleged that the British PM @Keir_Starmer  himself was directly responsible for covering up such evil and had refused to prosecute the offenders when he was DPP, I wonder whether @KemiBadenoch  will still have the nerve to declare the UK as being heaven on earth. Say what you like about Nigeria but we are not a nation of sordid perverts and child predators who look the other way whilst our infant children are subjected to violent mass rape and crazy, drug-induced wild orgies which often results in the death of the young victims. Again we do not arrest and prosecute desperate fathers who are trying to save their daughters from pedophiles, mass rapists and ravenous gangs that indulge in forced group sex and neither are our political leaders and security agents child-raping perverts, ritualists, satanists and devil- worshippers. Kemi complained that Nigeria is “hell on earth” and that Nigerian policemen “stole her brothers watch and shoes” and she is “comfortable and feels safer” in the UK where the British establishment, including their political leaders and policemen, condone, encourage and cover up sexual crimes of the worst and most heinous type committed against innocent and defenceless children! What a contradiction! Such hypocrisy and double standards are rarely seen!
