Isilomo Braimoh unethical work practices

Isilomo Braimoh

A former employee of Foxx & Co, a fashion company owned by 2019 Big Brother Nigeria contestant Isilomo Braimoh, has publicly accused her of unethical and exploitative work practices

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he allegations, shared on social media by Emma, paint a troubling picture of unfulfilled promises, unpaid salaries, and mistreatment.

Emma detailed her ordeal, starting with an intense assessment test that involved creating mood boards, drafting a 1,000-word essay, and developing a comprehensive social media strategy—all within three days.

Despite the challenges, she accepted the role, motivated by her passion for fashion and the promise of career growth.

However, Emma alleged that the red flags began appearing immediately. After signing the contract in April, she received no work engagement until July.

When the work began, Emma claims she was left to handle all responsibilities alone, often under chaotic and demanding conditions.

The accusations include a lack of salary payments despite verbal promises of ₦120,000 monthly, no reimbursement for expenses, and instances of public embarrassment.

Emma shared a particularly distressing account of attending the GTCO Fashion Week, where she faced ridicule and was labelled “useless” in front of a crowd for struggling in heels after hours of standing.

Emma also highlighted contractual terms that she described as “slavery,” including clauses giving Isilomo ownership of all her intellectual property and a non-compete clause that prevented her from working for other fashion houses for six months post-resignation.

Attempts to resign were met with persistent demands from Isilomo, who allegedly threatened to replace her if she didn’t “sit up.”

Emma finally quit in December, sharing that her resignation letter had been prepared since October due to the unbearable conditions.

Despite repeated requests for her unpaid salary, Emma claims Isilomo has ignored her emails and messages while maintaining an active social media presence.

Emma’s revelations aim to warn others about what she describes as the toxic work culture at Foxx & Co.
